Are you considering a fresh, new look for spring? Then come to the Acure Eco Salon on Sunday, March 28, 2010! The staff at Acure will be hosting an all-day cut-a-thon to benefit Freshplace, an innovative fresh foods pantry opening in the Upper Albany neighborhood of Hartford.
Acure is a full-service hair salon that has recently opened in West Hartford Center. The salon is dedicated to the idea that small actions can create “a cure” for the challenges in our community. The boutique hair spot is focused on using eco-friendly, natural products. The salon also celebrates and supports non-profit organizations and their efforts to improve our community.
In celebration of the salon’s grand opening, Acure is hosting a fund raiser for Freshplace. The Acure stylists and employees are donating their time and will offer $20 haircuts and $10 blow-dry services throughout the day. 100% of the revenues generated will go to support the Freshplace pantry.
Freshplace will be a state-of-the-art food pantry offering fresh produce, meat and dairy items, along with client support services designed to assist patrons as they move from crisis to stability and self-sufficiency. The pantry is a collaboration among three area non-profit organizations, Chrysalis Center, Food share and the Junior League of Hartford and is due to open in July 2010. Acure Eco Salon’s natural, "wholesome" focus fits well with the Freshplace mission to provide fresh food and services to those in need.
Acure Eco Salon will be open on Sunday, March 28, 2010 starting at 10:00 a.m. for walk-in cut-a-thon patrons. Acure is located at 7 South Main Street in West Hartford Center next to the Lemon Grass Restaurant. For additional information, you may contact Acure at 860-23A-CURE. Stop by and get a new look for a great cause!
