President's Message
Welcome to the Junior League of Hartford! Since 1921, the Junior League has been making the Greater Hartford community a better place to live by promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving our community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. We are a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization whose purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. 
Our current community impact focus is the Alleviation of Hunger in Hartford. We offer an array of projects to meet the needs of those experiencing food insecurity in our community, including:
2012-2013 also sees the Junior League of Hartford beginning a two year New Project Development phase. Our members will learn what the pressing issues are in Hartford and how we can best meet the needs of our community. We will work with area non-profits, businesses, and other agencies to identify a community impact focus. Our projects and programs will then be designed to address that focus issue.
The Junior League is able to accomplish all that we do through the support generated by our fundraisers which include our thrift store, the Clothes Horse, our golf outing, “Links and Laughter”, and our Decorator Show Houses, produced every three years. Additionally, we host many Special Events throughout the year that are attended by members, friends, and supporters.
In addition to providing community impact, the League has always offered opportunities to create lifelong friendships while working alongside other women who actively seek ways to become more engaged in their community. These are the women who become the community and civic leaders of tomorrow.
