New Project Development

For 90 years, the women of the Junior League of Hartford have identified needs in the Greater Hartford community and developed programs to meet these needs.

Our more than 450 members donate thousands of volunteer hours annually to
League projects and community service activities.

The first goal of New Project Development was to identify a project focus area, or “community impact focus area”, that meets community need, the interests of the JLH membership and the strategic goals of the JLH. From there, the JLH sought to collaborate with other community service organizations to develop projects or programs to meet those needs.

After a year of research and input from the Junior League of Hartford (JLH) membership and the Greater Hartford community, JLH selected its next impact area: Empowering Women and Girls to Overcome Obstacles.

After carefully evaluating proposed projects, the JLH is pleased to announce its partnership with Junior Achievement of Southwest New England to create the Career Connection for Girls program.
